Hi! I’m michael romero.

I’m a filmmaker focused on grounded stories shaped through light, color, and atmosphere. I tend to approach lighting as part of the narrative, using contrast, practical sources, and subtle color shifts to reflect what a character is feeling rather than just how a scene looks.

I’ve worked across multiple roles on set, from production assistant to directing, cinematography, and gaffing, which has shaped how I approach collaboration and problem solving.

I’m currently developing original narrative work while continuing to collaborate on documentary, commercial, and photographic projects.
